The Boston Beanery ®
is a small regional
casual theme restaurant chain based out of
Morgantown, WV. There are currently 8
restaurants with sales ranging from $1 million
to over $2 million per year.
The Boston Beanery® concept was founded in
Morgantown, WV, in 1983. The restaurants are
patterned after old Boston pubs from the
1800's, which at that time were called
Beaneries. All Boston Beaneries strive to
bring you the very best food served in a warm,
tavern-style atmosphere.
Boston Beanery is interested in expanding its
restaurant & tavern concept while providing
opportunities for experienced, motivated
individuals who have serious interest in
developing a successful restaurant brand.

Step 1: Submit a Franchise Application and
Financial Statement Applicants must have a minimum net worth
of $1,000,000 of which a
substantial portion must be liquid assets.
Typically, 20 - 25% of the total project
cost will be required as an equity
investment in each project. Project costs
range from $764,000 - $1,124,000 for a
typical restaurant developed in leased
space of approximately 4,500 square
feet. If you are not in the financial
position to solely pursue this business
venture, partnerships are an acceptable
business structure.
Step 2: Application Review and Final
Processing
After we receive your completed
application, we prepare background,
character and credit checks to verify all
submitted information. If these reports
are favorable, you will receive
preliminary approval and we will begin the
process of determining the feasibility of
a long-term business relationship.
Step 3: First Personal Meeting, Receive
Uniform Franchise Offering Circular (UFOC)
At this meeting, you will learn about our
franchise program and the support we offer
(such as site selection, training,
marketing, etc.). We will discuss your
responsibilities to the franchise system
and your personal qualifications and
business objectives. You will also be
invited to contact any of our current
franchisees, and be provided with our
Uniform Franchise Offering Circular. Take
some time to thoroughly review our UFOC and discuss
the Boston Hospitality Group, Inc’s
concept with your partners. Call us with
any additional questions you may have
during this step.
Step 4: Second Personal Meeting: Executive
Approval Meeting/Discovery Day
A second meeting is scheduled at our
corporate office in Morgantown, WV.
The applicant will meet with members of
the team and will to review specific
Offering Circular, Development Agreement
and Franchise Agreement. Restaurant development issues and territory
rights will also be addressed. Shortly
after the second meeting, the execution of the Franchise
Agreement and payment of the $35,000
Initial Franchise Fee per store will take
place. Before the actual signing of
the Franchise Agreement, we would expect
to see a full business plan outlining your
intentions and financial commitment.
Step 5: Identify a Site for Your First
Boston Beanery ®
Restaurant
Next, you will select a site for your
first restaurant. We will assist you in
locating an acceptable site within your
territory.
Step 6: Approval of Plans and Construction
Once capitalization of the restaurant is
finalized, we will assist you in
developing site and construction plans.
Step 7: Training
You and your key restaurant personnel
will
then be scheduled to attend our
management-training program, which
involves 8 weeks of on-the-job training.
You will receive all operations and store
opening manuals at that time, and will be
assigned a Field Consultant to guide you
all the way through opening day.
Step 8: Complete construction and open for
business After you have successfully completed
training, you will work through all
remaining steps with your Field Consultant
until opening day.
